Unique features • The shortest coastline among Baltic countries; • The capilal of Lithuania is 300 km from the sea, but the main marina of Klaipeda is in the heart of the old town. • You can reach the Medditeranian by inland waterways. Inland waterways connected basins of the Wysla, Oderand Nemunas rivers. Construction of the network started in 1255;

  4. Distances • Liepoja – Klaipėda: 55 NM; • Šventoji – Papė: 9 NM; • Šventoji – Pavilosta: 68 NM; • Šventoji – Ventspils: 101 NM; • Klaipeda – Mys Taran: 60 NM;

  5. Kursiu Marios • The Old Castle Harbour is situated in the mouth of Danė River; • Klaipeda – Zelenogradsk – 50 NM; • The distance from Klaipėda to Juodkrante is 12 NM. The floor consists of solid sand. Depths of the fairwater are 4.0 to 6.0 m. No stones! • From Juodkrante to Pervalka - 10 NM; • Klaipeda – Nida – 26 NM. • Nida – Atmata light – 9 NM;

Nemunas River • The total length of Lithuanian inland waterways is 902.3 km; • 476.7 km of IWW are suitable for cargo and passenger navigation; • 103.0 km are marked with lighted beacons; • The basis - Nemunas River; • River from Kaunas to Klaipėda is part of the EU IWW network and marked as E(41). Depth of fairwater should be 120 cm 60 % of navigation; • 19 marinas along the river;

  9. Baltic Pilot • Volume II, South part of Baltic Sea and Gulf of Riga, Thirteen edition, 2005; • Sventoji Harbour 56°02‘ N, 21°05‘E. A light (white octagonal pyramid, 3 m in height) is displayed from the head of the S inner mole; • Vessels with a draught of 1.5 meter can lie alongside the N mole in he outer harbour; • Misleading information about Papesciems that the harbour is formed by a N mole and S mole, 280 and 300 m in length, respectively;

Perspectives • Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism of Spain allocated necessary funds for a a feasibility study; • Company “Alatec” prepared the study; • Šventoji harbour could be designed for 500 boats. Storage capacity - 160; • Reconstruction costs exceed 50 million EUR; • Port infrastructure includes a yacht club, a sailing school, dry docks, ship repair and maintenance facilities, restaurants, shops;

  13. Season of 2011 • Dredging of the entrance channel up to 3 meters; • Floating piers for sailing boats, electricity and water supply; • A rally from Klaipeda to Sventoji 11th of June, 2011;
