Presenters Julie Hogan, PhD, CPS Korene Stamatakos As a Research Assistant, Korene supports SAMHSA's CAPT T/TA providers as they work with state and local prevention practitioners to design, implement, and evaluate their evidence-based substance abuse prevention efforts. As Co-Director for SAMHSA's CAPT, Julie is responsible for the overall functioning of SAMHSA's CAPT along with the Director and members of the senior advisory team.

Why a New SAPST? • Ensuring curriculum content is up-to-date • Evolving needs of the substance abuse prevention workforce • Responding to the need for a more cost- effective training model • Mix methods – modifying to include face-to-face and online learning
Feedback & Observations on 2006 Curriculum • Content • Strong on information, but weak on building competencies • Advanced trainings would be beneficial • Slides • Slides need to be more eye-catching and graphically sophisticated • Handouts • Include samples or templates of various commonly used documents
