4. Community Development Trusts are enterprises created by communities to enable long term sustainable development in their area. Our vision for Fauldhouse is for a clean, attractive and healthy village with excellent transport links that is a model for thriving locally led sustainable regeneration; a place where people of all ages, abilities and circumstances are happy and informed, with their own part to play in the economic, environmental and social life of the village and the surrounding countryside. Contribute to the regeneration of a community Initiate and participate in projects tackling the economic, social, environmental and cultural needs of our community Work on projects that complement existing provision in Fauldhouse Be independent but work in partnership with other private, public and voluntary sector organisations Be owned and managed by the local community Generate income through trading activity that enables us to move away from dependency on grant support Reinvest income generated into the organisation or the community General Aims

6. 5 newsletters produced and hand delivered to all house in Fauldhouse Organised the annual Fair Day twice Carried out Community Consultations Raised funds to repair and renew the War Memorial and organised an inter-denominational Remembrance Day service involving the schools Fauldhouse “Field of Hope” with Marie Curie Cancer Care Secured grant to employ a Development Worker What we did in our first two years(2007 / 2008)

West Lothian Council - £15,000 start-up grant Big Lottery (2007) - £10,000 for Community Consultation Big Lottery (2008) - £10,000 Investing in Ideas to work up ideas and architects plans for the £650k project to buy and develop the Community Hub Scottish Power - £12,000 Unrestricted Plus several smaller (£250) grant from local businesses and grant makers How we were funded (2007 / 2008)

8. Continued quarterly newsletters, Fair Day and Remembrance Day events Organised other Community Events: Music Festival, Community Clean-Up (litter pick), Woodland Volunteer Days Supported other Community Groups with sourcing funding, publicity and governance Start a weekly Health Walks group in Fauldhouse Submitted funding applications (to the value of approx £650,000) to buy a building to be used a Community Hub, providing services to local residents, supporting community organisations and as CDT offices/premises What we did in 2009

Continue quarterly newsletters, Community events and support of other Community Groups Obtain building and begin work on opening a Community Hub Fauldhouse Climate Challenge project – assistance for residents with Home Energy Efficiency plus work with community groups and schools. Scoping out of other Environmental projects in Fauldhouse Partnership project with West Lothian Council to offer paid employment training placements in Fauldhouse Joint project with Falla Hill Primary School to build a MUGA (multi-use games areas) for school and community use Feasibility study for wood working workshop and allotments Plans for 2010
