A Few Reminders Letter grades of A, B, C are passing grades and you receive 5 credits for each class you pass. D is considered an unsatisfactory passing grade; you receive 5 credits for passing but cannot move on to more advanced classes until you earn a C or better. Colleges will not accept D’s, you must pass a class with a C or better to meet college admissions requirements. SAUSD requires you to earn 45 credits for the year in order to promote to the next grade level. Safety Respect Responsibility
Log on to your Aeries student portal. • Check your grades to see how many credits you earned the first semester. • Subtract the credits earned the first semester from 45 credits to see how many credits you need to earn for the second semester to meet SAUSD promotion criteria. • For Example, a student who earned 20 credits the first semester must earn 25 credits the second semester: 45 – 20 = 25 credits • Divide your answer by 5 credits to get the number of classes you need to pass. 25/5=5 classes • Next check your gradebook summary to see your current grades and confirm that you are on track to promote to the next grade level. • The following slides will give you tips to improve your grades.
