SCEREN Organization • SCÉRÉN (Service Culture Publications and Resources for National Education) a nationwide network of public establishments divided into: • French National Educational Resource Center (CNDP) • 31 regional centers (CRDP), 85 departmental centers (CDDP) and local centers (CLDP) • Two departments related to CNDP at EdReNe : • Resources and Technologies Department • International Affairs Department EdReNe Kick-off Seminar

3. SCEREN official missions • SCEREN missions aim at teaching staff and generally to any member of the educational system (pupils, students, parents,…). • SCEREN sets up resources, publishes and promotes their use to: • carry out educational and pedagogical priorities of the French Government • enforce professional skills of the teaching and managing staff in educational field • promote new methods and practices regarding project management and ICT integration in schools EdReNe Kick-off Seminar

ICTE expertise • Assistance and training for teachers and educational personnel who wish to integrate information and communication technologies into their professional practices and the classroom • Audiovisual production, multimedia projects, computerized documentation center management, internet sites creation EdReNe Kick-off Seminar

6. Documentation engineering • SCEREN gives access to resources • identification, location, selection, lending and assistance in using educational documentation • It sets up tools to have access to documentation resources • a documentation software (BCDI), databases (Educasources), thesaurus on educational topics (Motbis), normalization schemes… • It advices, assists and expertises to: • schools (events and trainings in documentation centers) • Ministry of Education and to regional political and educational authorities EdReNe Kick-off Seminar

Open source educational software online service Access on subscription available for teachers who want to download software Metadata not based on a specific standard (but descriptions quite similar to DC Education schema) Teachers are encouraged to deposit their comments about software on the website. French educational TV on demand online service Services = - videos catalogue composed of 2270 products including pedagogical documentation ; - weekly magazine on thematic subjects ; - Forum directed to teachers Programs produced and broadcasted in partnership with the French educational TV channel (France 5) Access on subscription available for schools and local authorities Subscription fees in connection with the number of pupils • Search engine : • subjects; • educational levels, • topics • Programs about 6 subjects : • - history, • - geography, • - natural sciences, • - environmental sciences, • - arts EdReNe Kick-off Seminar http://www.lesite.tv
