General Information • Sometimes referred to as “Painting of Lisa Gherardi” • Revered as one of daVinci’s best works, and certainly the most famous one. • The subject is not actually formally identified. Some suspect it is actually Lisa Gherardi, while others believe it is his mother.’ • Depicts a woman sitting in front of a winding landscape. • Displayed currently in the Louvre in Paris, France.
