What to do first? • Form a company • One Chief Executive plus employees for each department • As a group you must decide what to call your company • The challenge requires you to: • Come up with an idea and choose a new soup range • Develop a marketing plan • Design the packaging • Manufacture the soup • Sell the soup to your targeted audience • Judged throughout the challenge

  10. Marketing Challenge • How will you communicate with your target audience? • Develop a company/product logo and a slogan • Does your company have a specific colour scheme? • Think of images and creative design

  13. Packaging Challenge • Design packaging for the soup • Consider what information goes on food packaging - legal requirements? • Ingredients • Best before date • Nutritional information • Storage instructions • Contact details

Manufacturing Challenge • Produce a sample of your chosen soup to taste as a group • Determine if this is the perfect product • Understand what ingredients are healthy and why • Decide what ingredients to use • Ensure it is produced to the highest standards in terms of: • Hygiene • Health and safety • Product appearance • Perfect flavour and texture • Minimum wastage

Check-list: • Form a company • Name the company • Elect a Chief Executive • Decide who is in each department - job descriptions • Investigate the market; Look up the internet, look in supermarkets and magazines for inspiration • Speak to friends and family for ideas • What catches your attention, what’s innovative? • Decide what flavour of soup you are going to produce • Get ready to have fun!
