The aim of the e-learning pilot project was to prove that the e-learning solution provided as part of the ESR system (Electronic Staff Record) works successfully in all BHFT environments. Over 30 sites, many community staff, shift workers, ward and office based Clinical/non-clinical, regular system users/infrequent users Objectives
Project Executive – Head of Workforce Development Project Manager from the Training Department HIS Department (IT) and ESR Administrator brought into the project early on Approximately 50 volunteers from across the Trust to form the testing group Project setup

The Major Problem! We use a proxy server which must be bypassed Why couldn’t it be bypassed at BHFT? What can we do about it? The proxy server
Ensure the technical documentation is read and understood by the right people Look into the proxy server issue before starting Get the commitment from your test group early on Expect some “external” issues; networks, possibly Java Understand the activities on the plan Support strategies in place; ESR, IT, e-learning Allow time to manage the project Lessons learned
