Introduction to Brooks Library • 1st floor: Computer Lab, Circulation, Academic & Research Commons • 2nd floor: Current and bound journals • 3rd floor: Government Publications and Main Stacks A-J • 4th floor: Archives & Main Stacks K-Z
Cattrax Catalog • Advanced Search • Using subject terms • Text item location via text
Summit • Can be accessed through CatTrax • Consortium of 37 universities in the Pacific Northwest • Items delivered through a courier service. On average, takes 4-5 days. • 6 week loan period for books. No renewals.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) • Journal articles will generally be scanned and uploaded to your account. Turnaround is normally very quick, 24-48 hours. • Books and audiovisual materials will be shipped to the library for pick up at Circulation Desk. Arrival time varies. • If an item says it is in Archives or Special Collections it will not ship. Will need to contact the Archives or Special Collections directly.
InterLibrary Loan (ILL) • First time you use IILiad you will need to create an account • Can monitor the process of requested items and renew items from your account • Articles sent to your account will remain active for 30 days
Using Databases • Library Website Search & Find Databases by Subject History, the Americas • EBSCOhost Databases • Search multiple databases at one time • Archive Grid • JSTOR • Project Muse
Tips for Ebsco • Create an account to save searches and articles • Add notes • Cite record • Email record
Readers Guide To Periodicals • All the information found in an entry will help you find the article in the library or request it through ILL • Check CatTrax and Electronic Journals first • If we do not own the journal or have access the journal then you should request the article through ILL
