  1. COPC Action Item 2009-2.6: The COPC/CSAB shall work with the NUOPC Deputy PM to develop a proposed structure for the working relationship between NUOPC and COPC. Specifically, the proposed structure shall consider relationships between NUOPC groups and the CSAB, including the three Joint Action Groups under the CSAB. In developing the proposed structure, information flow, roles and responsibility, and command authority shall be clearly delineated.

  2. NUOPC/COPC Coordination NUOPC PM/Deputy PM Proposal • The NUOPC Project Manager will • regularly participate in COPC meetings and • monitor the transition of a global high resolution ensemble forecast system from the current developing prototype at the Tri-Agency operational centers. • Recommend that the Deputy Project Manager participate in the WG/CSAB to facilitate tracking of tasks associated with moving the NUOPC components to operations. • Recommend that COPC augment the membership of the CCM and OCM JAGs to ensure that necessary expertise is available to implement the recommendations of the Unified Ensemble Operations Committee. • The PM will update the ESG at each meeting on the status of implementing their vision of the NUOPC ensemble into operations.

NUOPC/COPC CoordinationNotional CSAB Proposal • The NUOPC ESG will exercise existing organizational lines of authority to accomplish NUOPC strategic goals throughCenter Directors • Center Directors will coordinate NUOPC-related tasks through COPC as necessary • The NUOPC PM will update the ESG at each meeting on the status of implementing their vision of the NUOPC ensemble into operations • Center Directors (or their designees) will regularly participate in NUOPC meetings to report status of NUOPC-related tasks • The NUOPC Project Manager will regularly participate in COPC meetings to report status of NUOPC planning • The NUOPC Deputy Project Manager and/or NUOPC support staff will regularly participate in the WG/CSAB and CCM, OCM and ODAA JAGs to provide insight into NUOPC planning, be apprised of CSAB and JAG tasks associated with NUOPC plans, and support implementation planning and execution
