Society And Gender Equality
Gender equality, is the state of equal ease of access to resources and opportunities regardless of gender, including economic participation and decision-making; and the state of valuing different behaviors, aspirations and needs equally. Many experts argue that the work of child rights NGOs in promoting girl child education, and a gradual shift in Indian society may change this. However, the work of these child rights NGOs in India is still unable to reach out to the most underserved communities in India. ‘Gender’ is a socio-cultural term referring socially defined roles and behaviors assigned to ‘males’ and ‘females’ in a given society. A girl should walk with soft steps, has to be careful with her posture, should speak softly and wear cloths in a decent manner.
