What is the JSNA and who is it for? The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) identifies the key health and wellbeing needs of the population within the county. It is the place people go to get information and intelligence to support decision making. The JSNA focuses on evidence of need, evidence of what works and feedback from residents about what is important to them. You can influence what it contains.

Did you know? In 2012 it is predicted that there are 25,128 people aged 75 and over that live alone It is predicted that almost 1 in 5 of the county’s population will be 65 or over by 2020 In 2009/10 there were over 1100 frequent flyers admitted as an emergency to NGH or KGH. These A&E frequent flyers accounted for 14% of all A&E attendances in 2009/10 By 2020, there will be nearly 33,500 adults with diabetes, a rise of over 6,000 from 2010 The number of people aged over 85 is expected to increase by around 5,000 in the next ten years In Daventry children are less physically active than average Northampton is the most ethnically diverse district in the county More than 1 in 4 adults smoke in Northampton The incidence of cancer is significantly higher in Daventry than the England average Children and young people in Northampton rate the accessibility of services as a key priority In South Northants more than 1 in 5 adults is obese
