Green, MSW, MAC, CDVC-III, CCJS, BEI-1 CPS Services Program Administrator Learn about the CPS infrastructure and how a case travels through the CPS system once an abuse or neglect report is made. 10:00 am – 10:15 am Break 10:15 am – 11:30 am Panel Discussion: Youth Speak Out Current and former foster youth discuss their school experiences, including frustrations with completing their high school diploma or GED; course credit issues; and the stigma of being labeled as a foster child. Their caregivers will discuss successful strategies to keep foster youth motivated. 11:35 am – 1:00 pm Lunch (on your own) 1:05 pm – 1:45 pm The Education of Foster Youth: A Legal Perspective A local judge gives his/her perspective on the education of CPS youth, the role of surrogate parents, and what judges are looking for in educational outcomes. 1:45 pm – 2:00 pm Break 2:00 pm – 3:10 pm Panel Discussion: Educators Speak Out Panel of various educators from different school districts discuss the population of students they serve and how they have assisted foster youth to meet educational milestones. 3:10 pm – 3:25 pm Feedback & Information Sharing 3:25 pm - 3:30 pm Acknowledgments & Dismissal
