Transforming a sad little garden As the garden looks May 2012 with dried out pond, uneven paving and numerous weeds
The Plan • To transform the garden into a place of tranquillity and colour, providing a quiet space for the pupils to enjoy • Commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee but not using traditional red, white and blue • Introduce a variety of plants in shades of white, pinks, blue and lavender • Use plants to attract bees and butterflies into the garden
The hard landscaping • Existing paving to be replaced with new grey textured paving • Gravel to be replaced with pink grey chippings with paved stepping stones through main part Bradstone’s Peak Riven paving in grey
Planters & Paint Colours We have kindly been donated three planters by Cheltenham Fencing. These, together with the bench, will be painted in Lavender Garden Shades before being planted. Two of the planters, measuring 120x75cm will be planted with: 11. 10. 9. Example of lavender paint 11. Lavender Hidcote, 9. Thyme Archer’s Gold, 10. Planters & Paint Colours The third Cheltenham Fencing planter, measuring 1m square will be placed near the meter cupboard. There will be a piece of trellis placed behind it, also painted lavender. 11. 48. Clematis montana Elizabeth replaces Veitch’s form 10. 9. 47. Philadelphus Mainteau d’Hermine
Grange Planters There will be two Grange square planters, both painted Jasmine. One placed near the Hall doors will have a piece of painted trellis to enable a sweet smelling honeysuckle to grow up it. The other will contain a hydrangea. 45. 12. Pink hydrangea 45. Lonicera Hall’s Prolific 12.

Main part of the garden • The site will be cleared of all existing plants, tree and grass before the transformation starts • The new garden, once planted, will be covered with new membrane and Ragley chippings, a pink grey gravel. • The following pages show you some the plants that have been selected for this area.
