  32. Making requests • I’m so busy. There is a big pile of work, do you mind making copies? • ME BUSY++ WORK DCL“big pile”, NOT-MIND PAPER COPY++. • Last week my car broke down, I spent so much money fixing it. Now I’m broke. Do you mind if we postpone skiing to next month? • ONE-WEEK-PAST CAR BREAK-DOWN, ME POUR-MONEY-IN. NOW, ME BROKE. NOT-MIND SKIING POSTPONE FUTURE+MONTH.

  33. Talking about a third person • You must use your signing space, verb inflections and pronouns appropriately me you third person

  34. When that 3rd person is present • Refer to that person’s actual location. • If that person moves to another location, refer to new location. • What if that person left room? Refer to the door that person went out of.

  35. Talking about 3rd person not present • You need to establish a particular location to refer to that person. • Both you and the person you are talking with must refer to the same location.
