Why Needs Mentoring?New members are not familiar with • Environment and Situations • Most of members and personal contact • TM Benefits and personal growth Benefits • TM Program and meeting proceed • How to prepare for various meeting roles • Preparing and rehearsing their first few speeches. 3
Initially Mentoring Steps At the first meeting – • Sit with the new member. • Orient the new member to club customs and procedures. • Explain how to sign up. • Help with the C1 – C3 speeches. 4
Next, Mentoring StepsAt the following meetings -- • Make mentees aware of Club resources • Provide positive evaluations • Help with speeches and other assignments • Explain responsibilities 5
Later, Mentor should -- • Tell how you have benefited. • Invite the mentee to other events. • Acknowledge progress. • Explain officers’ duties. • Explain speech contests. • Describe the Toastmasters organization. 6
Benefits for new members • Understand the Toastmasters program. • Learn Club standards and customs. • Develop confidence. • Participate in Club meetings and activities. • Quickly learn speaking skills. 7
