F4K’s Mission To bridge the gap between the hopes and dreams of our students and the workforce development needs of our communities.
North Carolina at a glance… • 69.9% of NC’s high school students graduate on time in 4 years • NC’s university completion rate is 59% in 6 years • Half of students enrolled in two-year community college programs do not return the second year • Ratio of school counselors to students is 1 to 320 in grades 6-12
Network connections • Talk with over 700 background-checked Career Coaches, approved by DPI as Graduation Project mentors • Get advice on high school course selection or grad project product, paper and presentation • Learn about companies in field of interest • Check out possible job shadowing or internship opportunities
Electronic Portfolio • Allows students to upload and maintain files or research in a single location • Documents, links and notes can also be posted by educators for student access • Educators can view students’ files and make notes for reference or for other educators • Can be selectively shared with others at student’s invitation
