Purpose of the NPA • Introduce a requirement for a vibration health monitoring system into helicopter operated in commercial air transport
Outline of the discussions in RST 06/2 • JAR-26 or JAR-OPS: • RST was more in favour of JAR-OPS3 • Contents of ACJ: • RST requested that there are EASA-CJAA discussion on paragraph 4 and 5 of ACJ
Present EASA plans • TASK 27/29.019: • Update the present acceptable means of compliance on HUMS. Start: 2nd quarter 2007. End: 2009 • TASK 27/29.020 • Update book 1 of CS 27/29 to adopt ICAO recommendation on fitment of VHM systems to helicopters defining the applicability to helicopters and operations affected and define the scope of VHM. Start: 2009; End: 20011
Present JAA rulemaking programme • D- NPA-OPS-XX: JAR-OPS3 VHM: • Category 3 • EASA inventory draft will be available to EASA future Rulemaking task.
Conclusion • Based on the above there does not seem to a be a need for further discussions in RST
