  3. 4-Year Graduation requirements • 4-English Credits • 4-Math Credits (Including Algebra I ) >College Bound: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II Minimum • 3-Science Credits ~ Physical (Integrated Science) ~ Biology ~ Science Elective ( Base on future plans!) • 3-Social Studies Credits * World History ( 10th Grade ) *American History ( 11th Grade ) *1/2 Credit Each of Economics and American Government (12th Grade)

  4. 4-Year Graduation requirements • Physical Education • 1-Performing Art Credit ( music, band, chorus, or art class) • 8 General Elective Credits • Note: 2 years of the same foreign language are needed for college bound students, however not for graduation requirements.

  5. Other requirements • In addition to completing the 24 required credits, you must: • PASS 10th Grade Reading & Math FCAT • Earn at least a 2.0 GPA. • 20 hours Community Service

  6. How Do I Earn a Credit? • Enroll in 7 classes worth 1 credit each. • 3 ½ Credits earned each semester ~Credits earned by making grades of A, B, C, or D ~Two 9 week & semester exam= ½ credit ~40/40/20=100 ~Attendance may have an effect on earning credits. ***11 or moreabsences and you must pass semester exam, even if you have A’s. If you receive a “F” on the exam= F for semester.

  7. Calculate GPA/ HPA • GPA=Grade Point Average Regular Classes Points for Regular: A=4 B=3 C=2 D= 1 F=0 • HPA= Honors Point Average Honors/ AP Classes Points for Honors: A=4.5 B=3.375 C=2.25 D=1.125 F=0 3. Points for Advanced Placement: A=6 B=4.5 C=3 D=1.5 F=0

  9. promotion • 9th to 10th Grade Must have 5 Credits. • 10th to 11th Grade Must have 11 credits and/ or Pass Reading and Math FCAT • 11th to 12th Grade Must have 17 credits.

Tips to be successful • Start Now • Come to School (Attendance Policy /Exams) • Stay Organized & Focused (Use your agendas). • Don’t let negative influences get to you. • Study Daily! • Get help when you need it right away. Tutoring with Honor Society on M & W. • Communicate with parent, teacher, etc. EDLINE
