Key Features of the ACORN Node • HEDA Cores Ethics / Human Subjects • Insure the protection of human subjects • Review ethical content of all nodal research by committee • Advise nodal investigators regarding all ethical issues pertaining to nodal research prior to submission to PECARN • Review IRB issues at nodal HEDAs and help coordinate activities which require cooperation between IRBs

Key Features of the ACORN Node • HEDA Cores Epidemiology / Biostatistics • Review nodal research proposals and provide specific feedback to investigators on issues of study design, sources of bias and confounding, sample size and power, logistics and feasibility • Assist in the development of surveys and other data collection instruments • Assist with statistical analysis of completed nodal research, including multivariable statistical models and techniques for validation • Assist with preparation of research presentations and manuscripts
