Youth in Action Programme Programme Priorities • European citizenship • Participation of young people • Cultural Diversity • Inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities
For whom? • Young people from 13 till 30 years old • Youth workers / youth leaders • Youth organizations • Coordinators of projects in the field of youth and non-formal learning • Other non-profit organizations and institutions
Programme Countries • 27 countries of European Union • 3 European Free Trade Association (EFTA/EEA) members – Island, Norway, Liechtenstein • Turkey, Croatia – candidate for accession to EU • Switzerland • FYR of Macedonia is going to finish the process of integration into the Programme till the end of 2011
Neighbouring Partner Countries • 7 countries of Eastern Europe and Caucasus (EECA): Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russian Federation, Ukraine. • 9 countries of the Mediterranean Region (MEDA): Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, Syria, Tunisia. • 7 countries of South East Europe (SEE): Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, FYR of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Kosovo under UNSC Resolution 1244/1999.
Three types of activities available for cooperation with the Neighbouring Partner countries • European Voluntary Service - EVS (Action 2) • Youth Exchanges (Action 3.1) • Trainings and networking (Action 3.1)
European Voluntary Service(EVS) – Action 2 • 1 to 30 volunteers involved in the project. • One or more organizations that SEND volunteer abroad. • One or more organizations that HOST volunteer in their country. • One organization / coordinator, any organization (can be one of the sending or hosting organizations) that coordinates project, communication, finances etc. Project structure:
Youth Exchanges Action 3.1 • 16-60 participants, aged from 13 till 25, not including group leaders. • Few participants can be older, but not more than 30 years old. • Project duration, including preparation, realization, evaluation, dissemination and valorisation of results can’t be longer that 15 months. • Activity duration is 6 to 21 days, without travel.
Trainings and Networking Action 3.1 Aims: 1 –Promoting exchanges, cooperation and training in European youth work 2 – Supporting development of projects under the Youth in Action Programme Cooperation and partnerships, training measures and exchange of good practice are the key terms for the development of youth organisations, civil society and those involved in youth work.

Development of international youth cooperation with Eastern Europe and Caucasus within the Youth in Action Programme2007-2010
How it began? • 2000 – YOUTH Programme is available for EECA countries. Activities are financed at centralised level • 2003 – National Agencies started to finance cooperation with EECA countries at decentralized level • October 2003 - SALTO Eastern Europe and Caucasus Resource Center was established
