Major Course Objectives • Create web sites • Know some of Office • Able to specify your own PC • Investigate IT ethical issues • Improve ability to research and evaluate sources • Locate, draw inferences from and graph numerical data • AIM: Fun projects you will use later – alternative project suggestions welcome
MS OFFICE Applications + • MS Office - Any version OR Open Office • Word - Word Processor • Excel - Spreadsheet • PowerPoint - Presentation Tool • Access – Database Tool - skipping • SeaMonkey - Web Development Tool • FileZilla – FTP manager • Windows Explorer – File manager • Google Drawing - Graphics • Google Hangout - Conferencing tool
Computer Equipment Required • NONE • No home PC needed – library is fine • Use library if home PC not working well • MS Office occasionally needed • Free Open Office is okay but not tutorials for all • No need for Open Office if you have MS Office • Instructions mostly for Windows, but Macintosh OS is okay • Submit through moodle first but email if moodle does accept your assignment.
