What Is A Tornado • A tornado is a violent, whirling windstorm that crosses land in a narrow path. It can result from wind shear and updrafts inside a thunderstorm. The usual form is a funnel-shaped cloud with destructive spinning winds, that descends from a cloud to the ground over a relatively short period of time.
How Does It form? • Warm air goes up at a rapid pase and while the cold air is at the Earth's surface. When winds from two different direction collide they start to spin. The updrafts makes the funnel cloud go in a vertical direction. The funnel cloud reach the bottom of a cumulonimbus cloud. The funnel finally reaches the ground is now called tornado.
What Is The Destruction of A Tornado? • Damage could range anywhere from minor damage to roofs and siding to the complete obliteration of well-constructed buildings because tornadoes rip through anything in its way.
What should I Do Incase Of A Tornado? • Stay away from windowsand if you can get into a basement or storm cellar for cellar. If you don’t have this hid in a bath tub.
How Do You Know When Tornado Is Coming? • When the sky turns green or blackish. This is a sign of a tornado and/or hail. Strong rotations at the base of a cloud means a tornado is trying to form, and of course a funnel means take cover. There is of course the sign everyone knows, if there is a sudden calm after a dramatic storm, though this does not always occur. When a tornado strike is imminent you may notice a drop in air pressure and you will hear a loud rumbling that many relate to the sound of an oncoming train. Also in some areas you will hear tornado sirens going off. Also listen to radio.
