Explain how the four transportation systems interact to provide domestic and international goods to the people of Georgia. • b. Explain how the four transportation systems interact to provide producers and service providers in Georgia with national and international markets. • c. Explainhow the four transportation systems provide jobs for Georgians.

  3. Interstate • Supports the ports • Can transport goods to most US markets • Can transport goods to ports • Trucking industry creates jobs • Connects cities enabling workers/materials to move more quickly

  4. Sea Ports • 2 Deepwater ports 2 Inland Barge Terminals SavannahBrunswickBainbridge and Columbus Container Cargo auto heavy equipment agricultural products Ports have infrastructure support of the interstate system and the rail road system.

How does the interstate system support the ports? • A look at Georgia’s transportation system: • Deepwater ports: • Savannah • Brunswick • Inland Barge Terminals: • Columbus • Bainbridge • US Interstate System: • I20 • I75 • I85 • I95 • They all interconnect in order to make the impact that transportation does for our economy.
