AIM Merge the datasets on Article 17 reported by 27 Member States referred to 4 themes: - Habitat Distribution - Habitat Range - Species Distribution - Species Range Give an assessment value for each cell Solve the conflicts occurred in the overlapping cells For the particular case of Species Distribution and Species Range, the sensitive species had to be flagged.

INPUT • Deliveries from Member States: • For each one of the 27 MS, the following datasets: • Habitat Distribution • Habitat Range • Species Distribution • Species Range • - For 7 MS (DE, FI, IT, LU, LV, MT, PL and PT) • - Sensitive Species Distribution • - Sensitive Species Range Additional information: - 1x1 LAEA grid - 10x10 LAEA grid - Member States’ extent for terrestrial and marine zones - Biogeoregions’ extent for terrestrial and marine zones - Conservation Status values (Assessment values) reported by the MS

  4. 3. STEPS • - Production of maps in 10K base for the regions, countries and country-region combination • Data resampling • Grid assignment • Aggregation/dissaggregation according to the grid • Dataset merging • Alphanumerical queries • Elimination of duplicates • Removal of sensitive species
