What were some big differences in Athens from Mesopotamia • Believed in reason and debate rather than Gods. • Let the society vote on decisions. • Created institutions to run the city state.
Was Democracy really fair? • Only Citizens could vote • Only Rich Citizens with Slaves could go to the meetings. • So it was really an Oligarchy!
