Mean Absolute Deviation(MAD) • Find the mean. • Calculate the deviation of each number in the data set to the mean. (ie find the difference) • Make all the deviations positive (their absolute value) • Find the mean of all the deviations. • The MAD will ALWAYS be a positive value.
