Identified and Prioritized Needs • Need 1 • Increase ELL, Hispanic and Economically Disadvantaged reading performance • Need 2 • Increase math scores campus wide • Need 3 • Increase writing performance campus wide with increased focus for Economically Disadvantaged and Hispanic writing scores • Need 4 • Increase ELL science scores

Improved Reading Performance – Actions Quarter 2 Goal: Continue to implement campus Master Schedule to include 30 minute Personalized Learning Time Interventions • Grade level PLCs meet at the end of each six weeks. • PLCs will review effectiveness of the schedule and make any necessary adjustments. • PLCs will evaluate student readiness and performance data, and adjust flexible groups based on identified skill deficits. • One teacher per grade level will deliver Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI) to Tier 3 readers during PLT block.

  5. Improved Reading Performance – Actions Quarter 3 Goal: 100% of classroom reading teachers will implement Personalized Learning Time (PLT). Interventions • Administrative team will do focused walk-thrus aligned with PLT expectations. • PLCs and Data Teams will monitor student progress, determine deficit student SE's and skills for intervention, and adjust flexible groups based on readiness and skill deficit.

  6. Improved Reading Performance – Actions Quarter 4 Goal: All subpopulations meeting 70% on 2016 Reading STAAR Test. Interventions • Teacher, student, and parent conferences will be conducted to include progress measures that are not met on STAAR data in grades 3-5. • Summer Reading will be held during open library hours once per week in the summer. Specific students are invited to participate to reinforce skills with games and activities.

Mathematics Instruction –Actions Quarter 2 Goal: 100% of the teachers will be trained to unpack math content and process standards, and design instruction, intervention and enrichment to meet the rigor of the standard. Interventions • Campus Administrators and Instructional Leadership Team will facilitate professional learning in November. Data Teams, as well as Vertical Teams, to continue to develop the process for unpacking standards, adding components for deeper alignment as appropriate. • Teachers will learn how to analyze heat maps to determine deficit SE to drive instruction, intervention and enrichment decisions, as well as support small group decisions. • NISD Math Coaches in grades K -5 will aid in Coaching and modeling, lesson planning, intervention design.

  9. Mathematics Instruction –Actions Quarter 3 Goal: Increase percentage on middle of the year benchmark as compared to previous year's raw STAAR scores by 5%. Interventions • Data Teams will meet to analyze middle of the year assessment data, and update progress monitoring system to determine areas of growth and deficit skills. • NISD Math Coaches in grades K -5 will continue to assist with coaching and modeling, lesson planning, intervention design. • Math Vertical Team will continue to unpack math readiness standards identified as areas of growth based on campus assessment data.

  10. Mathematics Instruction –Actions Quarter 4 STAAR 2016 scores will show a 10% increase over the 2015 STAAR raw score data. Interventions • Teachers will compare 2016 raw data to 2015 raw data to determine increase in performance. • Teachers will reflect on the impact of the instructional changes they implemented to identify successes and opportunities for growth.

Writing Progress Monitoring –Actions Quarter 2 Goal: 100% of students and teachers will use the baseline writing stage aligned with the Analytic Writing Rubric and/or the STAAR Writing Rubric to set writing goals and develop skills during Writer's Workshop. Interventions • Campus bulletin board and SBBB will be created using exemplar writing aligned with the Analytic Writing Rubric and STAAR Writing Rubric. Boards will initially display models of exemplar work. • Student goal setting/data folders will be created to support goal setting process. Folders will have rubrics for students to reference as well as individual conferring and goal setting forms. • NISD ELA Coaches in grades K -5 will work with teachers through Coaching and modeling, lesson planning, intervention design. • Develop middle of the year writing benchmark for K-3 and 5th grades.

Writing Progress Monitoring –Actions Quarter 3 Goal: 100% of students will meet or exceed 60% on district revising and editing assessment, and grow a minimum of one writing stage on the middle of the year writing benchmark using the Analytic Writing Rubric or STAAR Writing Rubric. Interventions • NISD ELA Coaches will work with all grade levels to develop calendar for implementing revising and editing during Writer's Workshop. • NISD ELA Coaches in grades K -5 will continue to coach and model lesson planning and intervention design. • Campus bulletin boards and SBBBs will be updated with exemplar writing aligned with the Analytic and STAAR Writing Rubrics with student compositions. • Student goal setting and progress monitoring will be updated to reflect current assessment data.

Writing Progress Monitoring –Actions Quarter 4 Goal: 100% of 4th grade students will meet or exceed standard at 70% in 2016. 100% of K-3 and 5th grade students will meet district expectation on Analytic Writing Rubric. Interventions • Student, teacher, and parent conference will be conducted to include progress measures for grade 4 that are not met using STAAR data. • Students, teachers, and parents will communicate and/or conference to include progress measures for grades K-3 and 5 that are not met using Analytic Writing Rubric.

  16. Science Progress Monitoring –Actions Quarter 2 Goal: 100% of classroom teachers will continue to monitor and track progress for all students, specifically struggling learners, in Science. Interventions • Teachers will use progress monitoring tools and systems for students who are performing below grade level (Tier 2 -3 in all student groups) as indicated by CBAs and other district assessments. • The work of regularly scheduled, grade level PLCs and Data Teams will continue to evaluate student performance data and develop instruction, intervention, and enrichment plans based on identified skill deficits. Teachers will use a protocol for unpacking Science content standards for clarity of the learning target for any SE's identified as areas of growth based on assessment data. • Student Success Team will meet every 4 -6 weeks on all students in the RtI system to determine effectiveness of interventions and progress utilizing progress monitoring data, student goal setting data, and on going RtI documentation. • Professional development will be provided to all staff on using ELPS strategies to support academic vocabulary development for ELLs aligned with Science standards,.

Science Progress Monitoring –Actions Quarter 3 Goal: 100% of general education classroom teachers will monitor and track all students, struggling student progress, as well as students with potential level 3 achievement. Interventions • The work of regularly scheduled, grade level PLCs and Data Teams will continue be to evaluate student performance data and develop instruction, intervention, and enrichment plans based on identified skill deficits. • Student Success Team will meet every 4 -6 weeks on all students in the RtI system to determine effectiveness of interventions and progress utilizing progress monitoring data, student goal setting data, and on going RtI documentation. • Science vocabulary will be displayed in classrooms as part of ELPs strategies for ELLs.

  18. Science Progress Monitoring –Actions Quarter 4 Goal: Increase STAAR 2016 Science results to 70% in all student groups. Interventions • Teacher, student, and parent conferences will be conducted to include progress measures that are not met on STAAR data in grade 5.
