  3. 6th Grade Social Studies • World Studies of the following regions: -Canada -Mexico, Caribbean, and South America -Europe and Russia -Australia

  4. 7th Grade Social Studies • World Studies of the following areas: -Middle East -Africa -Asia

  5. 8th Grade Social Studies • 8th Grade Georgia Studies as it relates to American History: -the Indians and Spanish Exploration -the Georgia Colony and Revolution -Georgia Government -Antebellum-Civil War -Reconstruction-the New South -20th Century Georgia

  6. Supplies Needed • Flash Drive/Thumb Drive (You can get one for $10 or less and it will store all of your documents for 2-3 years, can be accessed on all computers in the school, and can hang around your neck) • loose-leaf paper (no spiral notebooks) • highlighters • markers • ruler • black and/or blue pens (pencils are okay but not preferred) • 3-4-inch binder with dividers (can be used for all subjects) or a 1-2 inch binder just for PC • pencil pouch

  7. Donations Needed • tissues • glue sticks • clear tape • cotton balls • yarn • copy paper

Information on Ms. Whitley • I have been teaching at SMS for 14 years. • This is my eleventhyear teaching gifted. • I am the sponsor of the Movie Club. • I currently hold a Bachelors Degree in Middle Grades Education, a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Assessment, and a SpecialistDegree in Teacher Leadership.
