  2. Fall 2010 priority filing period: Oct. 1-Nov. 30, 2009 Students are encouraged to apply early to receive priority registration. Nursing and social work are the only impacted majors. CSUSB accepts 88 B.S.N. students and 50 B.A.S.W. students each year. Palm Desert Campus accepts 33 B.S.N. students every fall term.

  4. 1,300 bed spaces available to students who wish to live on campus • On-campus housing starts at $493/month, and includes cable, Internet access and all utilities. The residence halls require all students purchase a meal plan. • “Theme floor” living is available to students (i.e., First Year Experience and Global Scholars) • First Year Experience has increased its available spots to 100 (originally 50) • Housing is guaranteed to all first-time freshmen if they apply by March 1. • Housing applications open up in mid-February

CBPA offers new concentration and minor in sports and entertainment marketing. • M.B.A .in entrepreneurship ranked 4th in the nation by Princeton Review and Entrepreneurship Magazine, 2006-2007. • 17 different undergraduate concentrations, the M.B.A., and the M.P.A., evidenced by dual accreditations: The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business and National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. • Peer Advising Center, where students help students succeed.

  6. CSUSB's Music Department offers a minor in recording arts and a new minor in jazz studies. • CSUSB's Liberal Studies Department offers integrated track leads to a bachelor of arts degree in liberal studies and multiple subject credential. • Liberal Studies has a new arts and letters track for those seeking a well rounded and unspecialized major. • CSUSB is the only CSU to Offer a B.A. in Arabic. • CSUSB's Philosophy Department offers new minor in philosophy, policy and economics.

  7. CSUSB’s Model United Nations and Model Arab League teams continue to win top honors at international conferences. • CSUSB is the only CSU campus and one of just a handful of universities nationally to offer an M.A. in national security studies. • As the lead university in the CSU’s Center of Academic Excellence consortium, CSUSB received a $5.5 million grant for investigative and analytical software from the U.S. intelligence community. • CSUSB received a $2.6 million Minority Access to Research Careers grant from the National Institutes of Health for 2009-2014. • CSUSB is one of the few schools nationwide to offer a B.A. in political economics. • M.A. in criminal justice offered as an online program since 2008.

The Computer Science and Engineering Department offers B.S. degrees in computer engineering, bioinformatics, and computer science, as well as a B.A. degree in computer systems with concentrations in Web development, system administration, game development, graphics programming and interdisciplinary studies. • The Biology Department offers specialties in pre-medicine, pre-dentistry, pre-pharmacy and pre-veterinary medicine, and has been highly successful in placing students in medical school and other professional schools. • The B.A. in mathematics-teaching track program has been approved for a CSET waiver by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. • CSUSB offers Mathematics and Science Scholarships of up to $4,000 per year to top high school and transfer students.

Ranks among the top CSU campuses to produce credentialed teachers. • New building opened fall 2008 and offers state-of the art classrooms, laboratories, evaluations and rehabilitation center, a student services department, a duplicating center, and more than 100 faculty offices. • Over 30 different credential, master, and certificate programs all accredited by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. • Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) program will have its first graduating class in 2010.

Overall GPA of all CSUSB athletes is 3.0 • Women’s volleyball team won its sixth California Collegiate Athletic Association championship in the past eight years and advanced to the Pacific Regional title match for the ninth straight year and finished national runner-up in the NCAA Division II championship match in 2008. • Men’s golf competed in the NCAA national championship for the third straight season and taking second place in 2009. • Men’s basketball won its first CCAA tournament title in 2009 after earning seven co-championships in the past nine years. • Women’s cross country team earned a team scholastic All-American award for the eight straight year and one student-athlete earned ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American honors.
