The Australian Labour Party is a political party in Australia. • It has been the governing party of Australiasince 2007. • Julia Gillard is the party's leader and Prime Minister of Australia. • The Australian Labour Party believes in creating a fair workplace free from exploitation. • They are committed to making society more just and equal. • Some of their goals are: better health, better hospitals and cleaner power stations.

The Liberal Party of Australia is one of the two major Australian political parties • Tony Abbott is the leader of the Australian Liberal Party and is called the Opposition Leader • The term 'Liberal' means that they stand for freedom. • The party aims to provide for individual welfare and development • They also believe in equality of opportunity • Some of their goals are: to make a safe and secure Australia and to make Australia an even better place

The Monash City Council has 14 suburbs which are: • There are 11 councillors who are: Geoff Lake, Katrina Nolan, Brian Little, Jieh-Yung Lo, Tom Morrissey,  Robert Davies,  Micaela Drieberg,  Paul Klisaris, Stephen Dimopoulos,  Bill Pontikis,Theo Zographos • The Mayor of Monash is Micaela Drieberg
