  5. Vocabulary Strategy: Multiple Meanings • A single word can have more than one meaning • Example: BAT a.) flying mammal b.) wooden club used in baseball • John had to crane his neck to see the crane wreck the garage. • It’s going to take a lot of work to clean up this empty lot.

What is the same? What is different?
