Anger- Definition • Also known as wrath • The emotion is not sin but could lead to sin e.g. cursing, violent/improper behaviour , etc. • The sin is the desire for vengeance, violence and hatred
Effects to Self • Stress • May cause the self to take the life of someone else • Losses self-control and rational thinking
Effects to Society • Nurtures the weeds of division, distrust and discord among the people • Order is not always kept in the community • Hatred among individuals is present
Concrete Examples • Getting “even” with those who hurt you • Physically harming others to release tension • Insulting others with the intention to offend them
Exceptions • Is meant to improve others/constructive criticism • Has a proper cause e.g. to discipline others
Envy- Definition • The desire to take or to acquire other’s possessions, skills, intelligence, etc. • Opposed to charity • Also known as jealousy
Effects to Self • Depression or other negative emotions • May sow suicidal intentions • May cause the self to cause crimes • Separation from society cause by the self or others
Effects to Society • Rampant crimes • The cancer of hatred, indifference, and selfishness becomes malignant • Possible collapse of society due to no support from others
Concrete Examples • Gossiping about the one who is envied • Stealing other’s belongings • Being sad or angry about someone’s achievement
