Director of Website Development Job Description Director of Website DevelopmentPosition OverviewReporting to the VP Sales & Marketing, Director of Website Development is responsible forresponsible for implementing the ongoing development of the corporation & all productwebsites. This role will require in-depth technical knowledge, and the ability to effectivelywork with internal/external stakeholders to capture business requirements for all websites.Responsibilities • Manage website development process for all corporate and product websites • Set standards for design in conjunction with Marketing Communications • Create new web pages and update existing web pages as necessary. • Develop web page infrastructure, utilize applications to ensure technical performance and assess new technologies to determine fit for our needs • Perform navigation analysis and browser compatibility assessments & testing • Provide quality control for any third-party content, especially on our Blog • Development of complex HTML documents with embedded graphics, forms, audio, video, and script objects • Coordinates web functions, monitors web activities, incorporates new technologies into the web site, and enhances existing websites. • Build, Test, Launch, & Maintain simple web applications and web forms • Work with Marketing Analyst to gather web metrics and report on trends • Consult with and assist departmental website publishing staff in designing, developing, streamlining and maintaining web pages using HTML, Java Script and other similar programming languages. • Provide excellent customer service to all levels of users and encourage timeliness and accuracy of web page information and resolution of problems. • Document web development processes & best practices for our organization • Write and maintain HTML/ASP codes with lots of descriptive comment tags • Work with ISP to ensure website availability is approaching 99.99% • Work with network staff on issues of hardware/software affecting websites.
• Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements and company policies on web site usage, security, and standards. • Manage corporate website redesign project and engage key stakeholders • Work with Marketing Communications to develop consistent look & feel • Update all content, or provide a mechanism for content owners to update their content; create an intranet for internal document storage & retrieval • Advise Marketing Communications on how to optimize their offline content for online use cases. Ensure brand integrity for all online communications.Job Requirements • University Degree in Business or related field preferred • University degree or college diploma in business or computer programming • Minimum of 3 years experience in a web development role • Exceptional knowledge of marketing, sales, & development processes • Strong project management, problem-solving, & analytical thinking skills • Ability to develop strong relationships and work with senior level executives • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including documentation • Solid business acumen, management, and marketing communication skills • Advanced computer skills, especially HTML, ASP, Java, C++, etc. • The ability to travel at least 15% of the time (North America, Europe, Asia) • Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements and company policies on web site usage, security, and standards. • Manage corporate website redesign project and engage key stakeholders • Work with Marketing Communications to develop consistent look & feel • Update all content, or provide a mechanism for content owners to update their content; create an intranet for internal document storage & retrieval • Advise Marketing Communications on how to optimize their offline content for online use cases.
