History • When America was founded, abortion was legal. Laws prohibiting abortion were introduced in the mid-1800’s , and by 1900, most had been outlawed. • Abortion has existed in almost every society and was legal under Roman law. Today, almost two-thirds of the women in the world may obtain a legal abortion.
What? *Abortion becomes an option due to lack of reproductive knowledge an access to birth control. When birth control is available, it is not always 100% effective. The only way to avoid pregnancy completely is abstinence! -Abortion refers to the voluntary termination of a pregnancy, resulting in the death of the fetus or embryo.
Why? • Inability to care for child financially • Lack of support • Fear of being a single mother • Involved with school or work that would prevent proper care for child
ABORTION RISKS: • Cervical, ovarian, and liver cancer • Uterine perforation • Cervical lacerations • Placenta previa • Handicapped newborns in later pregnancies • Pelvic inflammatory disease • Psychological complications
How? • We are all capable of making our own decisions on our own and no one should control any woman's on carrying out a pregnancy • Unfortunately, abortion is an extremely controversial topic in the U.S
