  1. Parents’ workshop Behaviour Systems

  2. Our Policy • Based on positive praise • Praise for effort – no-one gets things right all of the time and mistakes are how we learn.

  3. The Freehold Five • We have identified 5 characteristics which are essential for children to develop in order to function socially, orally, spiritually and culturally as a citizen within our society. These characteristics will be displayed in every classroom and the shared areas under the banner “The Freehold Five”. • Honesty • Integrity • Respect (for others/ property/ self) • Empathy • Resilience (effort)

  4. Systems All children begin the day on a green card If a child has had a warning about their behaviour and they choose to continue to misbehave they get a yellow card. This is logged on our system. If a child has received a yellow card and they choose to continue to act inappropriately they receive a red card. You will receive a text if your child has a red card.

  5. Let’s create an amazing classroom community We’ll build a positive culture by encouraging skills like “Helping others” and “Perseverance”. We want all parents engaged in our classroom, seeing what we’re learning every day!

  6. Positive Reinforcement • To support the positive and transparent nature of our policy, Class Dojo will be used across Years 1 to 6. • EYFS will use a system linked to the story Zog and designed to support children’s developing social and emotional needs.

  7. Class Dojo • Children collect dojo points for positive attitude and behaviour for learning. • They can choose to “cash in” their dojo points on a half-termly basis for a prize…OR choose to bank them for a bigger prize later in the year

  8. Class Dojo

  9. What is it?

  10. Points Make Prizes

  11. However… • A warning = lose 1 dojo point, • Yellow card = lose 5 points, Red card = lose 10 points and detention.

  12. Golden Badge Children will earn their Golden Badge if they keep the Freehold Five and earn 100 Dojo Points. They will work towards this EACH TERM

  13. Cashing in • Golden Badge will be awarded when children reach 100 points. Point will not be “cashed in” for a Golden Badge. • Children can choose to “cash in their points each half term OR bank them for a bigger prize!

  14. What do parents see? You can view a “report” of your child’s feedback for skills we are encouraging in class. You can send a message to your child’s teacher.
