PURPOSE AND AGENDA Purpose: Defines Leap ASOC Concept providingcontinuous ASOC C2 during Corps or Division Command Post movement. AGENDA • Leap Concept • Minimum Communication Requirements • ASOC Manning • Leap ASOC Options (5 Person / 3 Person) • Airlift Consideration • Future Capabilities (DCP/TDC-Lite/TACP-CASS w/MRT)
LEAP CONCEPT Definition: The Leap package is a resource used to permit continuous operations during mobile combat situations by providing an interim ASOC capability. • Original main ASOC will continue to function while the leap ASOC is being set up. Leap ASOC moves with the Corps/Div TAC, while ASOC main remains with Corps/Div Main. Executing simultaneously. • Allows rapid main ASOC resumption of operations following a displacement or loss of the Army main CP. • Portions of the original main ASOC may join the leap ASOC to reconstitute a new main or move in to establish a new main CP. • Orchestration of an ASOC leap will vary with the tactical situation, Army movement tactics, and equipment limitations. • Bottom Line: Each ASOC must adapt its capability and resources to meet the requirements of its associated Army CP.

Responsible for all non-PC functions.
MINIMUM COMM REQUIREMENTS Required communications capabilities of the Leap ASOC in order to fulfill its function as a stand alone ASOC with reach back ability. • LEAP ASOC Responsibilities: • LOS capabilities PRIMARY for PC (UHF, VHF, DaCAS) • B-LOS capabilities for reachback and back-up for ASOC main • SATCOM/HF/MIRC • SIPRNET/NIPRNET/VOICE through Army Channels • MAIN ASOC Responsibilities: • B-LOS capabilities PRIMARY for JARN/TACP-CASS • SATCOM/HF/MIRC • Backup LOS capabilities for PC (UHF, VHF, DaCAS) • SIPRNET/NIPRNET/VOICE through AF Channels • Communication capabilities are the same; however, division of labor, systems, and channels are different
ASOC MANNING9-Person Crew x 3 / Support • These numbers reflect the current manning requirements to support 24 hr operations.
