  2. GUJARAT’S MILESTONES • 1.26% per capita blood donations. (NACO’S target 1%) • Gujarat’s population 5% of India, 10% contribution in total national blood donation • 126 Centurion Blood Donors. • Highest 20022 units in a single camp. • 44444 units collected through 555 camps in 365 days(SBI). • First NABH sensitization workshop in the country in March, 2008. • 10 out of 30 NABH Accredited Blood Banks • 34 blood collection mobile vans in the state. • Persons from every house donate blood in Village “DholaKuva”.

INITIATIVES OF GUJARAT GOVERNMENT • Financial support to GSCBT. • Blood Storage Centres : FRUs/CHCs - 41 , Trust/Private Hospital – 26; 67 -In process • Up-gradation of Blood Banks – Rs. 10 Crores • Financial support to 18 Blood Banks for blood mobile vans. • State, Regional and District level Conference for donor motivators. • Blood Donation camps organized on all major events and celebrations (Birth-days/Death Anniversaries) • Motivating Blood Donors, Camp Organizers , Blood Bankers -World Blood Donors’ Day, National Voluntary Blood Donation Day

  7. World Blood Donors’ Day, 14th June, 2011 State Level Function “Sherdil Gujarat Award” organized by GSACS, GSCBT and IRCS, Ahmedabad on "World Blood Donor Day“ at Tagor Hall, Ahmedabad. This state level function was graced by : President of Function: H.E. Dr. Smt. Kamalaji, Governor of Gujarat Chief Guest : Shri Narendra Modi, Chief Minister, Gujarat Guest Honor : Shri Jaynarayan Vyas Minister of Health and Family Welfare Other Guests (1) Shri Parbat Patel Minister of State, Health and Family Welfare (2) Shri Vasanbhai Ahir Minister of State, Socio-Economic backward class (3) Mrs. Anju Sharma,IAS , Secretary(H) and Chairperson, GSACS&GSCBT

  8. H.E. Dr. Smt. Kamalaji, Felicitating Physically Challenged (he always says that I am Half however donating blood why can’t you ? as he doesn’t have leg) blood donors who have donated blood 70 times.

  9. A soveniour on the 50 years glory of Gujarat, its happens only in Gujarat was released by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi on the occasion of "World Blood Donor Day in the state level function..

  10. More than 1200 people have attended the “Share Dil Award” Function

  11. RaktKrantimarche from six different areas of Valsad city started at 9:00 AM on 1st October 2011. Students of ValsadSavarjanikKelavaniMandal, Valsad exhibited unique show by creation of Map of India &Gujarat and a Blood Drop with slogan of Paint Gujarat Red with Voluntary Blood Donation.

  12. Rakt Kranti Rally Rally being flagged off by Shri. L. C. Patel, Collector, Valsad, Shri D. B. Waghela, Diost. Suprintendent of Police & Shri K. K Shah, APD, GSACS. ShriGafurbhaiBilakhia, Shri. Dolatbhai Desai, Collector, DSP, DDO- Valsad leading rally and encouraging students.

  13. Availability of blood - by just one SMS. SMS service launched to know availability of Blood by Hon. Health Minister, Shri Jaynarayan Vyas on 17th July, 2010 To avail the facility all that the sender has to do is to type the required blood group, the name of the city and the quantity e.g. (o+ Ahmedabad 5) - which means 5 units of blood of type o + is needed in Ahmedabad to 8866100108. This initiative taken by M/s. Missameal Trust, Ahmedabad with support of Gujarat State Council for Blood Transfusion.
