OpenCV • Progress • Hardware • Microcontroller use no longer possible • Pan and tilt mount powered by servo motors instead of mirror galvanometer/laser lightshow
Power source Relay Pan and tilt mount Laser pointer Controller Laptop Servo motors
Will the controller fit the servos? • We think so • How about a pan and tilt unit with a built-in controller? • Most such units cost more than $200 and are used for security cameras • What will the speed be? • Assume a distance from the secondary laser to the secondary screen of 6 feet • The proposed pan and tilt system moves at 60 degrees/0.16 second, which translates to 10 feet/second
How will the laser be turned on and off? • The laser will be manually connected to an external power supply. A relay will be inserted in this power line. The proposed relay has a USB connection, allowing the laser pointer to be controlled from the laptop. http://www.brighthub.com/engineering/electrical/articles/83286.aspx?image=103839
