Albert Goering By: Tyler Brown
How He Made A Difference • Albert Goering was a German businessman, noted for helping Jews and dissidents survive in Germany in World War II; he could have turned out like his older brother who was one of the leading members of the Nazi Party, but chose a better path. • In order to do his escaping work, he had to sometimes go undercover, or even join Jewish groups so he didn’t look suspicious and so he wouldn’t be noticed or detected. • Albert had to risk many things like his career, fortune, and even his life many times.
Continued • Credited with many acts of kindness, Albert risked his life everyday for fellow in need Jews. • He would even do the chores with the Jews that they were ordered to do in public where the Jews were usually humiliated by other people or Nazis. • He even helped one of his former bosses escape and freed his family as with multiple other families. • Although his brother was the one doing the bad things, he himself was sometimes prosecuted.
More of saving children • He ended up saving a total of over 100 Jews, along with helping them escape some from concentration camps. • Because his brother was in the Nazi Party, Albert would sometimes listen in to their conversations and warn other Jews so they wouldn’t be captured, and even provided some of the Jews with money when he could.
Meaningful Quote • "We found a hundred people on Albert's list that were freed. All because Goering had such a need to show off to his younger brother.“ • From this quote you can tell Albert saved many people that without his help, may not be here today.
