Prerequisites: Billeted to stand JOOD on LCS Written Exams: Must pass all exams to successfully complete course Exception: pre test Passing grade is 80% One retake allowed for any failed exam Material covered in the tests is cumulative, i.e. no “data dumping” allowed Tests are approx 50% rules of the road questions Practical Assessments: Must pass all to successfully complete the course Practicals involve a variety of practical shiphandling / navigation evolutions Passing grade is 80% One retake allowed for any failed practical Total of three retakes allowed for the entire curriculum First failure: Remediate locally Second failure: Academic Review Board Fourth failure: Student fails course PREREQUISITES/EXAMS/ASSESSMENTS
