The ACUHO-I Housing Internship Program • Celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2002 • First International Summer Internships in Summer 2003 – University of Alberta and Victoria University in NZ • Record number of applicants • Summer process is the largest/most complex • Spring process is rather small; only a handful of schools/candidates

Current Look at Summer 2003 • 265 candidates applied • 132 candidates selected by host sites • 130 participated in their Internships • 155 available positions • 102 different host sites • Influences on numbers? Continued impact of Budgetary issues due to economic situation

Candidate Gender Breakdown FACT:Number of candidates has increased every year. The gender breakdown reflects patterns seen in the field.
Candidate Education Level FACT:Summer 2002 was first time that undergraduates outnumbered graduate candidates.
Impact of Program • Now that we’ve seen the data for the past four years, what impact has this program made? • We have anecdotal evidence of the positive contribution that this program is making in terms of feedback, and growth. • Specifically want to share the results from last year, as these will relate to the past.
