SeaAnemones By Maria Saunders
Sea Anemone • Sea anemones are also called powder puffs, white plumes, and dahlias. They can be red, green, orange, or snow white. Sea anemones can be as small as one centimeter or as large as half a meter. Sometimes sea anemones take small pieces of sand to cover and protect themselves. They can sometimes be found in tide pools with mussels. Sea anemones eat plankton, small fish, crustaceans, and sea urchins. They don’t hunt. They eat whatever swims or crawls near their tentacles. They have a symbiotic relationship with hermit crabs and clown fish. They eat foods that are packed with proteins, starches and sugars.
The anemones attach themselves to the hermit crab and gives the crab shade while the crab finds the anemone food. As shown in the next picture
