“BARK” Expectations • The BARK Expectations are stated each morning on the morning announcements. They are also posted around the school. Teachers remind students of the expectations throughout the day.
School-Wide Expectations • The BARK expectations are reinforced through specific rules for each area on campus. • There are rules for the hallway, bathroom, bus area, gym, recess, and cafeteria. • These rules are posted in each area and are easily visible to the students.
The PBS Binder • An organized binder is key to staying on target and accomplishing your goals.
Data System • A committee developed a data system which is compiled every month.
The PBS newsletter includes the following: • Data • Upcoming events • Reminders • Tips
Student Rewards Around Campus • Lunch Bunch • Fun Friday • Positive tickets • Big Bulldog Bash
Lunch Bunch • Every Friday two –three students are nominated by grade level teachers to eat lunch with administration. Pizza anyone?
Fun Friday Each grade level decides on a small reward for each Friday. The schedule of rewards must be approved by administration. Some examples of rewards are wearing jeans, a hat, or crazy socks. Each grade level also decides on the requirements to receive the reward. For example, 2nd graders must have an A or B average for conduct for the week with no write-ups.On Thursdays, the homeroom teachers send a permission slip home for the students who will be receiving the reward. The PBS team created a chart which allows for teachers to easily keep track of how many “Small Fun Fridays” the students earn.
Positive Tickets • Students can receive Positive Behavior Tickets from the teachers for demonstrating the BARK expectations. • Teachers and Staff can give out 5 tickets per day. • Teachers and Staff circle the BARK expectation that was observed. This ensures that the students know why they are receiving the ticket.
Tickets Each homeroom teacher collects tickets from her students throughout the week. On Friday, the teacher draws one name for a small prize. At the end of each week, homeroom teachers put all of their tickets in a grade level box. This ticket box will be brought to the “Bulldog Bash” each month for a drawing for a big prize
Bulldog Bash Every 4 weeks, the students are rewarded for positive behavior with a Bulldog Bash. Students must earn 3 out of the 4 Small Fun Fridays to be able to attend the Bulldog Bash.Kindergarten-2nd grade has their Bulldog Bash on a different week than 3rd-5th grade. Students who do not get to attend the Bulldog Bash go to The Dog Pound (detention).
