CALL FOR APPLICATIONS American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grant at Washington University School of Medicine Applications are being accepted for awards from the Washington University Institutional Research Grant from the American Cancer Society. The purpose of this program is to provide seed money for new projects initiated by junior faculty members. Proposals must have some direct or indirect relevance to clinical or laboratory aspects of cancer. Purpose: DEADLINE: September 13, 2007 Eligibility is limited to Washington University faculty members at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level who are within 6 years of their first independent research or faculty appointment. Postdoctoral fellows and more senior faculty, individuals who have previously received this award, and individuals who already have major NIH (including R01s and R21s), NSF, American Cancer Society or Veteran’s Administration funding are NOT eligible. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, non-citizen nationals or have proof of permanent residency at the time of application. Eligibility: Award: Maximum award is $20,000 for one year (renewals are not permitted). All new cancer-related research involving human subjects must first be reviewed and approved by the Siteman Cancer Center Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee (PRMC) and by the Washington University Human Studies Committee (HSC). Approval by the PRMC and the HSC must be obtained before any of the awarded funds will be made available and before the research can commence.
