How to get the Java component, if needed • Go to http://java.com/en/ Select Download Now>>Java Runtime Environment Version 5.0 Update 6 Follow the install instructions. • Enable Active X Controls • Right click the Internet Explorer icon and select Properties - then choose the Security tab - then choose the Custom Level button or open the Internet Explorer browser. Select Tools – then Internet Options – then select the Security tab- then choose the Custom Level button. Scroll through the Settings listed and choose the Enable radio button for all items related to Active X Control • Temporarily disable all other pop-up blockers • You may have disabled pop-ups in your browser. In Internet Explorer click Tools in the menu bar. In the drop-down menu choose pop-up blocker and choose Turn off pop-up blocker.
Accessing the Online Curriculum The Oracle Academy curriculum is delivered online at http://academy.oracle.com . Your cadre leader will send you your Oracle username and password which will enable you to access the online materials. During the Pre-Institute, the online curriculum will be your “book”. In order to be able to view the curriculum, however, you will need to have installed on your computer the required Macromedia Flash Player plug-in. You can download it at: http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash 1)During the pre-institute, you will sign in as a student. Later, you will sign in as an instructor. 2)Login using your username and password.
