  3. ISTANBUL AYDIN UNIVERSITY HISTORY Inaugurated in higher education in 2003. THE FIRST EXAMPLE OF BEING A HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION -WITHOUT BEING A UNIVERSITY- First student admissions in 2004 – 2005 as Anadolu BIL Higher School of Vocational Education. Evolved into Istanbul Aydin University in May 18, 2007.

IAU currently has 74 programmes ( 37 day- time and 37 evening). 29 activedepartmentsunder 7 faculties in 2008-2009 academicyear. Number of theprogrammeswillincrease in thecomingacademicyears, yet thefocuspoint is on theverticalqualitydevelopment.
