  2. Homes • Hopi women built their families house. • They built homes out of flagstones and sandstones. • They took the stones from ancient ruins. • Women set the stone with adobe mortar.

  3. Family life • The Hopi family included the entire clan. • Hopi clans were matrilineal. • They also tended to the children and prepared meals. • This means that children belonged to there mothers clan.

  4. Clothing • Hopi men made clothing from animals skins and woven cloth. • They wove cloth from plant and animals. • Women and girls traditionally wore a rectangu.
