  2. DOBE on the recruiting process

  3. DOBE on the recruiting process • Candidate character analysis • Candidate Soft Skills analysis • Candidate DOBE related Indexes on work performance • Candidate DOBE related scores and predicting matching with company values • Candidate DOBE related metrics and company culture compatibility • Candidate DOBE scores and Locus of Control • Candidate DOBE scores and Attachment Style

  4. DOBE character analysis – Big 5 /OCEAN

  5. Big 5 & Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)  The Big Five personality traits and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) are both widely used models for understanding human personality. Let’s explore their correlation.

  6. Big 5 Big Five (Five-Factor Model): • The Big Five model consists of five broad personality dimensions: • Extroversion: Describes how outgoing and social a person is. • Neuroticism: Reflects emotional stability or reactivity. • Openness: Measures openness to new experiences and creativity. • Agreeableness: Indicates how cooperative and compassionate someone is. • Conscientiousness: Relates to organization, responsibility, and self-discipline. • The Big Five is well-supported by research and has been empirically derived from factor analysis of the entire English dictionary, with consistent results across multiple languages

  7. Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)  MBTI: • The MBTI categorizes individuals into one of 16 personality types based on four dichotomies: • Extraversion (E) vs. Introversion (I) • Sensing (S) vs. Intuition (N) • Thinking (T) vs. Feeling (F) • Judging (J) vs. Perceiving (P) • However, the MBTI lacks strong scientific support and has not gained widespread acceptance in the research community1. • It’s important to note that the MBTI does not capture the trait of Neuroticism, which is a significant predictor of negative outcomes.

  8. Big 5 & Myers-Briggs Type Indicator correlation Correlations: Research has explored the relationship between the Big Five and MBTI dimensions: Extroversion (Big Five) correlates highly with Extraversion (E) and Introversion(I)(MBTI) (r = -.74) Openness (Big Five) correlates with Intuition (N) and Sensing (S) (MBTI) (r = .72) Agreeableness (Big Five) correlates with Feeling (F) and Thinking (T) (MBTI) (r = .44). Conscientiousness (Big Five) correlates with Perception (P) and Judging (J) (MBTI) (r = .49) 1.

  9. Big 5 can predict the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator ρ

  10. Big 5 can predict the Myers-Briggs Type Conversion

  11. Big 5 can predict the Myers-Briggs Type Conversion

  12. Big 5 can predict the Myers-Briggs Type Conversion Big 5 = MBTI + Neurotism

  13. Why all this? You can use the MBTI typology More accurate because : • It derives through Big 5 (Strong scientific background through strong correlations) • It derives through game based assessment (Based on what people Do not what they SAY) Use the Neurotism factor as an added predictor Use the OCEAN typology and have more character descriptors

  14. MBTI character descriptors Ex. ENFJ Portrait of an ENFJ - Extraverted iNtuitive Feeling Judging Leadership type: The Giver

  15. MBTI character descriptors ENFJs generally have the following traits: • Genuinely and warmly interested in people • Value people's feelings • Value structure and organization • Value harmony, and good at creating it • Exceptionally good people skills • Dislike impersonal logic and analysis • Strong organizational capabilities • Loyal and honest • Creative and imaginative • Enjoy variety and new challenges • Get personal satisfaction from helping others • Extremely sensitive to criticism and discord •  Need approval from others to feel good about themselves

  16. MBTI character descriptors ENFJ Relationships ENFJs put a lot of effort and enthusiasm into their relationships. To some extent, the ENFJ defines themselves by the closeness and authenticity of their personal relationships, and are therefore highly invested in the business of relationships. They have very good people skills, and are affectionate and considerate. They are warmly affirming and nurturing. They excel at bringing out the best in others, and warmly supporting them. They want responding affirmation from their relationships, although they have a problem asking for it. When a situation calls for it, the ENFJ will become very sharp and critical. After having made their point, they will return to their natural, warm selves. They may have a tendency to "smother" their loved ones, but are generally highly valued for their genuine warmth and caring natures.

  17. MBTI character descriptors ENFJs Strengths • Most ENFJs will exhibit the following strengths with regards to relationship issues: • Good verbal communication skills • Very perceptive about people's thoughts and motives • Motivational, inspirational; bring out the best in others • Warmly affectionate and affirming • Fun to be with - lively sense of humor, dramatic, energetic, optimistic • Good money skills • Able to "move on" after a love relationship has failed (although they blame themselves) • Loyal and committed - they want lifelong relationships • Strive for "win-win" situations • Driven to meet other's needs

  18. MBTI character descriptors ENFJ Weaknesses Most ENFJs will exhibit the following weaknesses with regards to relationships issues: • Tendency to be smothering and over-protective • Tendency to be controlling and/or manipulative • Don't pay enough attention to their own needs • Tend to be critical of opinions and attitudes which don't match their own • Sometimes unaware of social appropriateness or protocol • Extremely sensitive to conflict, with a tendency to sweep things under the rug as an avoidance tactic • Tendency to blame themselves when things go wrong, and not give themselves credit when things go right • Their sharply defined value systems make them unbending in some areas • They may be so attuned to what is socially accepted or expected that they're unable to assess whether something is "right" or "wrong" outside of what their social circle expects.

  24. DOBE Soft Skills analysis Communication Teamwork Flexibility Self Control Empathy Social Skills Attention To Detail Emotional Intelligence Resilience Self Confidence Active Empathetic Listening Assertiveness

  25. DOBE Soft Skills analysis Value Communication Humans are built for connection. Whether that connection is brief (asking a sales associate for a price), constant (bonding with your coworkers), or deep (such as the relationship with your spouse), truly effective communicators can find a way to bridge the gap between themselves and any person they come in contact with. Communication soft skills are the tools you use to clearly and effectively converse with others, set expectations, and work with others on projects. Whether you're a CEO or an entry-level employee, communication skills are of utmost importance. Verbal and written communication come into play every day at the workplace.

  26. DOBE Soft Skills analysis Value Self-control Self-control is the ability to control oneself, in terms of having mastery over one's desires and appetites. Those who are self-controlled can think, decide and act in proper time and way for optimum results. Self-controlled people can be thought of as having acquired two other skills: 1. Self-Preservation They have a healthy attitude towards 'things' and focus on what they need in order to live, rather than what they want. 2. Self-Assertion They know their own value, and are comfortable in saying what they think in a way that allows others to speak too. They are firm but gentle with others, and do not put themselves or others down.

  27. DOBE OCEAN metrics for workplace performance Conscientiousness Is the Big Five personality trait that best predicts additional variance in job performance across all types of work (with moderately sized effects even after controlling for intelligence). Emotional Stability (Neurotism / Emotionality) Affects all aspects of job performance. The higher the worst (Several meta-analyses) Extraversion Affects job performance for jobs that involve interpersonal skills such as sales and managerial positions. Openness to experience Predict performance in customer service jobs.

  28. DOBE OCEAN metrics for workplace performance Emotional stability, Openness to experience, Extraversion and Agreeableness Have been shown to relate to “interpersonal facilitation” and is a powerful predictor of extra-role behavior and Organizational Citizenship Behaviors (OCBs) & potent Employee Brand Ambassador Emotional stability, Extraversion, and Conscientiousness are each associated with higher levels of job satisfaction. Emotional stability, Openness to experience, Extraversion, Conscientiousnessand Agreeableness Each of the Big Five is related to reduced turnover. Conscientiousness and Agreeableness Have been shown to be negatively related to deviant behaviors such as theft, substance abuse, and disciplinary problems.

  29. DOBE OCEAN metrics for workplace leadership People who score higher on Extraversion have a greater motivation to become leaders. Extraversion, Emotional stability, Conscientiousness, and Openness to experience each predict leader emergence and effectiveness. Extraversion has a sizable relationship with transformational leadership behaviors.
