Evaluate Future Options • Overall College Environment: geography, size, location and academic interests. • Level of athletic program: Division I, 1AA, 2, 3 or Junior College. • Finances: Full scholarship or partial scholarship, Financial Aid considerations, Grant and merit based money. • Register with the NCAA Clearinghouse
NCAA Clearinghouse • Register at www.ncaa.org • Provide Transcript Release Form to HS Guidance Counselor. • Pay $65.00 Fee • Summer before Senior Year – request a final transcript to be sent to NCAA. • Communicate with your Guidance Counselor.
Where to Begin • Need to have your games filmed • Who can film? Have a sibling, parent or friend of the family. • Request copies of games filmed by coaches(if available) – Not all sporting events are filmed. • If you feel that a specific event should be filmed by the school please contact us and we will do our best to provide that service.
Package the Material • Prepare a video that may contain a few highlights along with actual game footage specific to the sport you are hoping to pursue in college. • Student must contact the coach of the prospective college team via email or phone call. • Student video should reflect what the specific college coach will be looking for.
What to send • Athletic Resume • Copy of unofficial Transcript • Cover Letter to Coach, include a thank you note. • The Video • Should include 2 half’s at least from 2 different opponents and a minimum of 10 clips.
